If your fitness routine was a relationship, would it be a hot one, full of passion, possibility and excitement? Or would it be more about arguing, excuses and feeling bored? For too many people, a sorry and neglected fitness relationship makes being active a constant struggle.

When was the last time you stopped to think about your fitness life? Do you jog because you’re afraid you’ll get fat if you don’t? Do you swim laps because you were on the swim team in high school? Do you go to a gym you don’t like because you have an inexpensive membership? In so many aspects of our lives we know we need a plan; yet our fitness lives are often a hodgepodge of old habits, half-truths and impulse. Have you ever really thought about what you like about being active, or have you just forced yourself into some prefabricated fitness mold?

This is your chance to get off the treadmill (both physically and metaphorically) and do some focused thinking about what makes you tick as an athlete. (That’s right, I said athlete, get used to it.) We will spend a one-on-one session together uncovering what motivates, irritates and inspires you. I will ask you all kinds of questions about what you’ve done, what you haven’t done, your body and its strengths and limitations, your schedule, your likes, dislikes, hopes, dreams and athletic aspirations. Instead of measuring your body fat or counting how many push-ups you can do, with your help I will access your fitness personality.

With the information we glean from our time together, I will recommend sports and activities for you to try, ways for you to optimize your fitness schedule, and possible long- and short-term goals. You will come away with new insight into your fitness style as well as specific recommendations for leagues, classes, gym, clubs, races, etc.

I think everyone is entitled to fitness passion. Let me help you create the fitness life of your dreams. Find what you love to do, get involved and the body and state of mind that you have always wanted will follow.
